‘Australian Spirit’ Bursary:

Aim

The Australian Spirit project, by focusing on Australian achievements, aims to:

  • heighten young people’s pride in being Australian through the study of the diversity of Australian achievement in the history of the Scenic Rim Shire and parts of Logan Shire of its people;
  • complement school based programs designed to help students learn more about Australia and to promote the study of the diversity of Australian achievements as a part of the curriculum in primary, secondary and special schools;
  • encourage self-pride, respect and a sense of accomplishment in students through recognition of participation in the project;
  • foster the idea that all Australians, especially students, can positively contribute to the future growth and prosperity of our Shire and our Nation;
  • and provide knowledge that that will help in the choice of a career path.

  • The Australian Spirit project aims to promote the study of Australian achievement in primary, secondary and special schools throughout the Scenic Rim Regional Council and parts of Logan Shire.
  • The project has been designed as an educational tool to supplement existing curricula and activities in most subjects
  • Topics this year will include:

                                                 Art, craft and culture;

                                                 Social science and history;

                                                 Literature and music;

                                                 Physical education and health; and

                                                 Science, technology and commerce
